It's been a little over 24 hours since the last update and errors are down more than 50%. Still not perfect but knock on wood, it seems like the issue causing the errors above has finally been resolved.
i was just playing with Mark, Snake and Reyes and we lost power and the server went down. I ALWAYS enjoy playing with Mark and i wanted him to know it was a loss of power tht caused me to disconnect @Mark
@Brady Did you ever get an answer? It has done this to me 13 times!!! and I can't get an email to go through to tech. Any idea how to contact Tech?
@Josh Any chance of resetting my abandoned games back to 0 and giving me back my points? I might add that the most recent one happened this morning and I don't know if that was before or after the update.
@Seedygirl No, never received a response and like you email wouldn’t go through.
@Josh - I am back up to 7 Abandoned games. The game will say "waiting for other players" and then after some time, I will get the message, "Sorry, game ended. Something went wrong" and then I get charged for an abandoned game and lose 10 points per abandoned game.
I will take a look.
@Josh Back up to 9 abandoned games, but this time I just go to click on a card to play and I find myself booted out of the game and back to the main menu. Has happened 3 times in less than 24 hours.
Sorry to hear that, I will take a look.
FYI there is an option to appeal these now in the App if click on the (i) button on the stats page.
Here's a tutorial on how https://www.pinochle.net/how-to-submit-a-penalty-appeal-in-pinochle/
@Josh,
I see there are a lot of good changes that have taken place! Thank you!!!
A couple that I think needs adjustments though...lol.
There is an awfully short timer for picking the four cards to pass whether you are the primary or secondary hand. I don't think this should be a hurry up situation so could you afford some more time please? If this was done to help speed up the game for people lagging behind and taking their time I think we could speed up every time a lot of for each person's turn instead. There should be a governor on this situation especially when we have cry babies who get upset that they have either lost a bid on the previous round or are losing the game but then sit there and purposely let the clock run down every single time it's their turn just to delay the game and tick everybody off...
I found that with this new short fuse on being able to pick the four cards to pass isn't even enough time for me to choose the right ones and this is a rather critical decision point in the round so not sure why we are trying to hurry. That's not an area really where we are wasting time in a game but rather need the time.
Can we make the stats a little more meaningful now that things are more established? Right now they still dont seem to mean anything regarding delineating who should play where... Is no bother or trouble for a newbie to get the required 100 rating plus keep a winning trend of above 40% to 44% (single or double respectively) for "Expert Table" access as noted. Those parameters surely doesn't make them an "Expert". Shows they at least attended your good tutorial classes that are well worth the time except we need to get them to memorize the meld combinations...lol. Can we raise those parameters to maybe a 300 or even a 500 rating? And the winning trend to maybe >60% or >65%?
Also, those records tables are flattering for the newbies while also being I guess an encouragement but kind of a skewed statistics error to others like me.Shoot, I have a great win-loss volume with a win percentage consistently holding at 82% but I don't even make the Top 50...lol. Not taking anything away from the top players like Myongpun, Gramgo, and Bev because I have play it against them and they are very very good but there are so many that have made the top 50 simply through longevity. You simply have to maintain around a to 65% win percentage to be on the positive side of the point system along with longevity and your rating will eventually climb sky high. Earnie, the very top of the ranking list, is the prime example. I am sure he is a good player especially because he has probably seen it all and played it all on his way to the top. In fact, he is so far on top that he is over 2 and a half times ahead of 2nd place behind him. Earnie did all that at 66% win ratio and longevity. He is actually right at 10 times higher in the amount of rating than me....Hmmm!
And tgere is my issue with tgat particular statistic...
It is a "Rating" system of the players and gives insight into how they stack up against each other. But the flaw I know I see is that I am sure Earnie is not 10 times better tgan me especially since my winning percentage generally higher.
And as far as my "Trending %" goes in that stat at 92% with right at approx 1000 games under my belt. I rank #14 but that is because I am behind 5 other players that haven't even played 200 games yet and another 4 who haven't hit the 500 game mark yet.
These are my observations and findings. Are people looking at the different starts?
Can we start applying them heavier yet to matching up games? How about the other stats mentioned?
Thanks,
M.O.B.
@Mike-Ox-Big-1245 welcome back...long time no see...
Thanks as usual for the suggestions.
I will take a look at the timing for passing. I can probably make it a little longer but don't want to make it too long and have people lose patience.
It may be time to try bumping up the thresholds on the expert table. The challenge is making sure there's enough players who are eligible so that you don't have to wait more than a few minutes for a match. Will think about this too.
@Mike-Ox-Big-1245 took your suggestion and added time to passing cards. Increased to 30 seconds. Also added a count down dial so you can see how much time players have left. Hope this is useful and improves experience. Thanks again for the feedback.
