As part of the changes to introduce expert tables and standard tables, we have changed the setting for Points to Win from 500 to 300 for the standard table. This is to shorten the game time for more casual players.
The expert-level double deck Pinochle table will remain set to 500 points to win.
I like the choice between tables. But, the win points are and have been the same 300 as long as I've been playing
A couple more things: the replacement bots are much better. Their skills have improved drastically! Good job. If you just changed the amount of tricks to secure your meld from 2 to 20 the expert table would improve drastically! What makes this game so cool is the level of intensity it builds as it progress. The one small change of table choice has noticably increased the intensity volume already and it's just hours into it. I wouldn't have guessed that it would be so drastic but it is. The 2 point meld save does nothing but devalue the game by declaring it to be about meld.no,no, it's really about " can you save that meld?" And 2 points can be achieved in the first play. Anyone can throw an ace. If I have 80 kings and need to pull 20 to save it, I'm freaking passing. It's hard to save the Klingons. You have to have a good hand and the skills to bring it back I set hundred aces and double runs all the time. There is a real beauty to this game when all the kinks get worked out. I know, I've been on the ground floor working these very same kinks out on tables that make changes in blood.
