Based on some requests from players given the recent issues with server/network errors and game crashes (which hopefully will continue to be much improved after the last update) I decided to conduct a review/audit of the server logs to identify players who were impacted by these errors and received an abandoned penalty resulting from an error that was not intentional.
In cases where the review shows that players were unfairly recorded as abandoned as a result of an error, the penalty will be reversed and ratings will be adjusted.
Unfortunately, these logs only go back 3 months and do not necessarily capture all events but I think it's only fair for those cases where it can be clearly determined an error that those penalties are reversed.
In the future, I am considering an appeal process and will consider automating this type of review but in the meantime wanted to provide an explanation for anyone who notices slight adjustments to their stats today.
@Josh How do we provide proof of these issues? I have posted in the past via the forum and don’t recall receiving a response from you, and the email link only errors out for me. Thank you.
@Brady I think the Contact form is working again. Looks like a lot of email was getting blocked because it thought it was spam. Hopefully, that will work better now.
I try to check this forum when people post but sometimes it takes me a few days to reply if I get busy and I might not see everything.
I am working on a better way for people to report but in the meantime you can try the contact form, post here or email at admin@pinochle.net.
I generally can tell by looking at the server logs what caused the error so if I can verify it was inadvertent I will reverse the penalties. Until this process is more automated you can send a note and I'll review.
@Josh Thank you for your reply. I have sent an email message through your link. There was no option to do screen shot attachments there.
@Josh I,ve lost 50 plus games because of server failure. Can you adjust these penalties?
