Greetings. Long term Pinochle player here. Learned from my grandparents 50 years ago (they were immigrants from Germany).
I would like to play remotely with my daughter. So I am looking for a two handed version (We've usually played with a blind and a kitty). I've heard there are other ways of playing two player pinnochle as well. Does this site have a two person game and can games be set up with specific players remotely? Thanks.
Hi atxmtb,
We currently do not have a 2-handed version but you can play either Partners or Cutthroat with 2 people and fill the remaining seats with bots.
See this blog post https://www.pinochle.net/how-to-play-online-pinochle-with-a-friend/ for instructions.
Hope this helps.
2 times today i was playing and i all of a suf=dden got a message that i had been removed for not playing in the current game i was in. The playera head of me had not bid yet and i was waiting for them and i got kicked off
.
@Terber Thanks for reporting this and my apologies. There are several errors that can cause this. We are investigating and trying to work these out so they will happen less frequently. Having a good Internet connection (ie wifi) and keeping the app updated helps prevent some of these issues although sometimes it's caused by one of the other players dropping out and there are glitches handling replacing them with a robot. I think we've been able to make some improvements recently but have a lot more work to do. This is my top priority right now and focusing on this for next few weeks. Please accept my apologies and appreciate your patience as these issues get worked out.
@Terber
Hi Terber,
I have an Android so it is the "Play Store" that governs my updates. You'll know what it's called for iPhone... something Store but basically same phone app but just Apple. I have mine set to Automatic so my apps update right away. Some people don't like that but would rather control which apps get to take up more room on their phone or tablet.
I just checked in my Play store and my Pinochle.net app is up-to-date as far as I can tell since nothing is waiting to install.
Now if there is somewhere within the game app that @Josh has an update routine for us then I don't know...
Josh,
Any way the game app can read the version on our devices and refuse to let us play till we update like some other sites do? Then it could send us straight to the spot where we would update if needed.
Good luck, Terber
@Terber for IOS I think you can check the app store and it should let you know if there are any updates. For the website you shouldn't need to worry.
@Mike-Ox-Big Yes, I do have a way to force people to update, or rather block them from logging in unless they are running the latest version. Have been giving people some time to update on their own before flipping the switch so as not to knock lots of people out at once, but will probably start requiring updates soon.
